Dip tube length: how to measure your bottle

One number per item, and why there is no standard length.

Every sprayer and pump we sell is cut with a dip tube for your bottle. There is no standard length, so the configurator asks for it on every item.

01 · Why there is no standard

The tube has to reach the lowest point of the bottle without buckling against the bottom. A 500 ml bottle from one supplier and a 500 ml bottle from another can differ by 20 mm in inside height. The tube is cut at an angle at the bottom so it keeps drawing when it touches the base.

02 · How to measure

  1. Stand the empty bottle upright.
  2. Measure the inside height from the top of the neck to the inside of the base at the lowest point, with a ruler or a rod marked at the neck.
  3. Give us that number in millimetres. We cut the tube so it reaches the base with the angle cut and the pump seated on the neck.

If the bottle has a raised centre (a push-up) or an off-centre low point, tell us, or send the bottle.

03 · What if I do not know yet?

Write "send bottle" in the notes and post one to us in Varna. We measure it and confirm the length on the quote. The length is fixed per item; changing the bottle later means a new item.

04 · Tube material

LDPE, natural (translucent) by default. Coloured tubes are possible on request. For aggressive liquids the tube is rarely the weak point; the spring is (see the article on all-plastic vs. steel-spring triggers).
