Choosing trigger output: 0.8, 1.2 or 1.6 ml per stroke
Viscosity, foam, cleaning vs. cosmetic use, industrial bottles, and when an all-plastic trigger is the right call.

Output per stroke is the first number on every trigger sprayer datasheet. It is measured with water, at full trigger travel, in millilitres per stroke (ml/T). Here is how to pick the right range for your product.
01 · What the ranges are
- 0.25 – 0.30 ml (0.50 for VM-03D): mini triggers VM-03 for 20 to 28 mm necks. Cosmetics, hair care, small household bottles.
- 0.80 – 1.20 ml: the standard VM-01 series on 28 mm necks. Household cleaners, disinfectants, glass and kitchen sprays, automotive interior care.
- 1.10 – 1.60 ml: the industrial VM-01 A, B, Q, S bodies. Garden, degreasers, heavy cleaning, larger bottles.
- 1.20 – 1.40 ml: the all-plastic series VM-09 and VM1804 to VM1808. Aggressive chemistry and mono-material recycling.
02 · Viscosity first
A trigger sprayer meters a fixed chamber volume. Thin, water-like liquids fill the chamber completely and deliver the rated output. Thicker liquids (gels, viscous cleaners) fill it slower and may deliver less per stroke or drip; for those, a higher-output engine and a stream nozzle setting work better than a fine spray. If your product is thicker than a light lotion, tell us the viscosity or send a sample.
03 · Spray, stream or foam
The nozzle decides the pattern, not the output. The standard Spray/Stream nozzle turns from a cone spray to a jet. Spray/Spray gives two spray settings. Foam nozzles F1, F2 and F4 mix air into the liquid: F1 and F2 switch between spray and foam, F4 foams only. F2 has a fine steel mesh that makes a denser foam; do not use it with chlorine, acids or salt. Foam needs a product with a foaming agent; water alone will not foam.
04 · Cleaning vs. cosmetic use
Household and professional cleaning products want 1.0 ml and more: fewer strokes, faster coverage. Cosmetic and personal-care sprays want a finer, lighter dose, so a mini trigger at 0.25 to 0.30 ml or a fine mist sprayer at 0.10 to 0.14 ml fits better. Garden and automotive products in 750 ml to 1 litre bottles usually take the industrial bodies.
05 · When the material matters more than the output
Chlorine bleach, acidic descalers, salt solutions and solvents attack the steel spring. Two options: the SUS316 spring on VM-01, or the all-plastic series with a plastic spring and no metal parts at all. The all-plastic triggers also suit brands that want a mono-material closure for recycling. Read more in the article on all-plastic vs. steel-spring triggers.
06 · What to send us
The product you fill (or its safety data sheet), the bottle size and neck finish, and where the bottle is sold. We propose the series, nozzle and spring, and you configure the rest on the product page.
